LOOKING AND DISCOVERING OTHER GODS

idols

It was an odd day when I began seeing the other gods.  They’d been there all my life but I hadn’t looked this closely.  Very few people in my circles had looked either.  So, it felt weird to finally see what they were.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:2

We thought it was simple to see other gods and know what they are, but it isn’t.   Some of them stand there on their pedestals right in front of us for everyone to see.  Yet even while we are polishing them, we don’t recognize what they are. Continue reading LOOKING AND DISCOVERING OTHER GODS

LIVING THE APOCALYPSE OF CHRISTIANITY

apocalypse

The Apocalypse was something we grew up talking about and secretly worrying about.  Where would it happen?  Over there?  Or right here?  And maybe it was really about the economic crisis, or a political one.  It might even be a religion or denomination.

Whoa boy, talk about the shock as it happened inside my heart.  Bombs and destruction.  How would I survive this?

“Babylon the great has fallen!” in Revelation 18:2 was about spiritual idols.  And I’d held a bunch of them close all my life without being aware of them. The whole time I was looking around for the Apocalypse, it was just waiting to begin when my holy cows began tipping over. FINALLY, AN ARTICLE!

an article

Finally, an article!

I’m almost embarrassed that it’s been so long since I’ve written anything on the blog. However, in my defense (if it really is one) I blame the entanglement of Facebook’s siren’s song.  I actually thought I was interacting with a group of people.

To some extent it’s true, but with ever-changing algorithms, no one knows who actually sees their posts anymore.  Often it isn’t people we solicit.

And that leads me to why I’m back on the blog (where I belong). Continue reading FINALLY, AN ARTICLE!

MY KINGDOM – book now available

Welcome to MY KINGDOM, the 2nd book in the series “Learning to Live From The Kingdom”!

Available on Amazon and Kindle. (click here for Kindle)

FOREWORD BY MATTHEW ROBERT PAYNE

In this new era, we talk a lot about the Kingdom arriving or having already arrived and how we can live FROM it.  For me, that existence began with MY SEAT, which is the 1st book in this series.

Then Jesus introduced me to my realm of influence which He called My Kingdom.

That doesn’t mean I have built myself a kingdom because I want to be like God. It is simply the people and situations closely associated with me on Earth.  I didn’t know it before, but they comprise The Kingdom of God that lives within me.  And it’s because I hold them in my heart and they have the most personal significance for me. THE BIG WOOHOO PLACE

warmth

There’s a place inside me that feels like a big WOOHOO!  The general vicinity is near my heart, or maybe my belly, sort-of behind my lungs?  Hmm, it’s hard to pinpoint it, but it has this warm glow that sits there and hums.  Lol.  Sometimes it flares up a little and that’s when I wanna go dance in the street, or climb up on the roof, or something equally as crazy that I probably won’t do.

Anyway, this place, this thing, this warm spot has some kind of complete perfection about it.  Inside it, if I claim it and BE part of it, is full.  Absolutely full.  There isn’t one tiny piece of this thing that wants for anything.  It has everything.  As a matter-of-fact, its so complete that it’s “abundant” sort-of like an orchard in full fruit, or my Christmas cactus when it’s in full bloom.  In some ways, I can stand back and look at it and think “Wow, that’s almost too much!”  But I’d never say that!  Lol. WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN THE AMAZING THING IS ISOLATION

mountain

The most amazing thing has happened to me in the years since I began hearing God’s voice. It’s been a long, slow process that I didn’t even realize was happening … until it did.

I’ve discovered that I don’t need to hear from anyone else.

I know that sounds mean, or sarcastic, or rebellious, or arrogant. But it is none of those things at all. Rather it is absolutely saturated with Peace. It is even a more all-encompassing Peace than I knew before. And, I thought I had the best Peace before. But this is more. I don’t know how to describe it any other way. Continue reading WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN THE AMAZING THING IS ISOLATION

ITS HARD TO BE REJECTED

It’s hard to be rejected. It’s probably one of the cruelest things we do to each other. And Christianity has embraced Rejection just as much as the rest of the world. They even call it a godly tool and have classes to show us how to reject someone “lovingly”.In a world where children are bullied and rejected in school, why do we, the Peacemakers, embrace the very behavior we hate?

It’s a great example of calling evil, good. And finding justification in causing pain. After all, if my church says it’s a necessary and godly tool, then I should do it. Plus, they said “shake the dust” off my feet.
My, how eager we are to justify our cruelty even though Jesus never gave us that justification. He never rejected anyone. Continue reading ITS HARD TO BE REJECTED

WHAT WE DO WITH OUR TITHE

tithe 2

Most of our friends know our stance on tithe.  We are the temple.  And they ask what we do with it now.   So, I wrote this article to explain a bit.

Last week a couple regular income checks went into our checking account.  The next day my automatic transfer took 10% and put it into our savings account.

I love modern technology that lets me set things up to work automatically.  Then like magic, it goes where I want it to go.

But the financial strategy behind our automation is an eclectic mix of pieces from several sources.  The Old Testament, a financial advisor, and a little book called “The Richest Man in Babylon“. Continue reading WHAT WE DO WITH OUR TITHE

WOMEN IN THE KINGDOM

women

In several ways lately, Father has highlighted the peculiar struggle that only women encounter in their lives on Earth.  One way or another, men take authority over us and we don’t always give that authority freely but rather it is forced upon us.  Either religiously, through the misuse of scripture, or physically through overpowering.

Women’s hearts are made to nurture others, not defend ourselves.  So, when it happens, we suffer first from the knowledge that defense is necessary and secondly from being forced to acquire a trait that is against our nature.

I asked Father what He was trying to show me, and He replied, “Can you see the difference in The Kingdom?”

Then I looked from My Seat over my kingdom and saw that there was no difference in male or female. The Kingdom is spiritual.  Yet it is where we sit while we rule and reign on Earth. Continue reading WOMEN IN THE KINGDOM

WHOSE VOICE IS IT? GOOD OR EVIL

voices

Whose voice is speaking?  That’s the primary concern of believers wanting to hear God.  How can we know who is speaking?

When I began hearing Him, I asked Father God to prove Himself to me.  Not because I’m rebellious.  Nor am I a jerk.  But rather because it was His suggestion.  And as a result, over the course of several weeks, all doubt was erased from my mind.

He reminded me that we spend this same sort of time weighing and learning about any new friend.  We have conversations for days, weeks and months before we open ourselves up completely to someone new.  Friendships seldom have free reign in one day or one conversation.

That’s not to say, Father can’t do that.  He certainly can do anything.  But often the journey to hear His voice clearly and without doubt, is a rather long one. Continue reading WHOSE VOICE IS IT? GOOD OR EVIL
