It was a weird phenomenon I didn’t expect. A conference of my peers and friends left me at home wondering whether to spend the money to go and be with them?
And I decided the answer was “no”. Why? Well, it has little to do with them, of course, and so much to do with me.
I knew there would be corporate worship. And then teaching time. All of it would be awesome and rewarding to anyone who went. Except, probably me.
No, I’m not a hardcore introvert. I actually have a very extrovert side which loves to engage with people. I especially love the one-on-one.
But. And there is a very big “but”. I can’t do it anymore. Continue reading I LOVE YOU, BUT I CAN’T “DO” CORPORATE ANYMORE
We are taught to “test the spirits” because “even the elect can be deceived” and the best “test” is a declaration of Lordship. Therefore we ask the question “Is Jesus your Lord?” and if a spirit won’t make that claim, then it’s an evil spirit, straight-forward and simple.
But wait a minute. Everyday I meet tons of people in a public place. It’s my job and I’m not allowed to ask every person about their relationship with God. So how can I test the spirit? Continue reading TEST THE SPIRITS
Once I asked Father how it can seem that His messages are so different from one person to another? After all, He isn’t a different person and He isn’t actually giving differing messages.
He showed me how simply our perception is the problem, and He immediately gave me an example as I sat on my deck listening to a Continue reading WHO IS REALLY HEARING GOD’S VOICE?
“Go pick up the cup,” He said.
Was I literally hearing the voice of God? This voice was completely audible.
Now, I’m not saying this is the only way to hear God, but I was hoping to hear Him this way at least once. The prophets of old had heard His voice and though I didn’t want to be presumptuous, I asked God if I could hear it, too. However, I wasn’t expecting the strange message I received.
It was a sunny and breezy day as we drove across western Kansas to Continue reading HOW I BEGAN HEARING GOD’S VOICE
In a place of silence and peace, I can hear Father speaking to me and the conversation becomes very intimate. That’s because He knows every thought I have, often better than I know myself.
Sometimes we humans have unacknowledged thoughts and reactions hidden in foggy imprints from the past. These are impressions we never told anyone and barely noticed ourselves. Continue reading INTIMATE SECRETS
Feeling useless has come when I haven’t seen Father outwardly active in me for a while and I begin to think I’m doing nothing, having no effect, and just breathing air.
“Feeling useless” is a lie, of course. One that likes to show up just before Father surprises me with something special.
His surprise happened the other day via a young mother who was discouraged and frustrated. She couldn’t get her child support from her baby’s daddy and they fought every time they talked. Continue reading WHEN I FEEL USELESS, I’M NOT
Father said to re-post a word from 2013. He said “I am doing a new thing in the earth.” And this Word is what he’s talking about. He’s teaching many to rule and reign. It happens from our Seat.
The world is waiting for us to sit on that Seat each day and do our job. It is what changes the world and brings heaven to earth.
*** Continue reading HE’S DOING A NEW THING
This is ‘slightly in the future’ fiction about a homeless father and young son – invited by an Angel to step into ROSE ROCK, a community operating in ‘heaven on earth’ dynamics of supernatural proportions.
Estimated publish date after the 1st of the year 2016!
We just finished a week-long family event at our home. Almost 30 people from several states came and enjoyed being together. It was wonderful.
And it was a trial, although not for all the obvious reasons, save for one: religion. My family was raised Pentecostal/Charismatic and we all shared similar doctrines for most our lives. Then about 2-3 years ago, I began learning new things and my doctrines began changing.
I stepped out of the lines and did things like, umm, reading outside the usual doctrinal stuff. I read “Pagan Christianity,” by Frank Viola and George Barna. This book was one of the first to rock my status quo, and then it was “Raptureless,” by Jonathan Welton. Of course, there were many other authors in the mix like Maria Maddalena de Pazzi; hers was some rather obscure but enlightening material. Continue reading SET MY BROTHER FREE part II
Lots of my friends are leaving Facebook and I’ve been reading their reasons. One concern is about intellectual property rights and whether material we post on Facebook belongs to us or them. As a writer, that leaves enough question in the air to make me uncomfortable. Yes, I write freely for everyone to read, but that shouldn’t make it someone else’s property.
