THE SILENT AND UNQUESTIONING

silent and unquestioning

Today I was reminded how so many good church-goers have embraced silence. They label questioning seekers as troublemakers and find great comfort in the status quo. It’s called unity.

But that unity is a prison of hypocrisy where the mind and heart are silenced without free expression. And a smiling mask is worn to cover a dying soul.

Father never created a human heart that didn’t crave more. And it is only silenced through fear. The biggest one being Rejection.

No one ever wants to be rejected. It is the most painful thing we do to each other. And yet all the best churches teach how to properly and lovingly reject others as though it is a cooking class meant to make your meals better than you’ve ever known. Continue reading THE SILENT AND UNQUESTIONING

BEING UN-OFFENDABLE

un-offendable

I began writing 5 easy steps to being un-offendable when I realized that I don’t believe in steps.  They’re formulas and formulas are an act of striving to change ourselves using our own minuscule power. It’s extremely hard work and seldom succeeds.

So, I scrapped most of what I wrote and voted for telling you the story of the first time I decided to stop being offended.

It happened when Hunny and I were dating and we had a fight because he said something that offended me.  It was happening frequently because he’s an outspoken man and rarely beats around the bush.

But this time he said, “Look, this isn’t going to work if you keep getting offended.  First off, I’m not going to change.  This is who I am.  And this is how I talk.  I love you and you can believe that or not.  It’s your choice.  But you can’t manipulate me.  So, figure it out because this won’t work.” Continue reading BEING UN-OFFENDABLE

I LOVE YOU, BUT I CAN’T “DO” CORPORATE ANYMORE

love alone

It was a weird phenomenon I didn’t expect.  A conference of my peers and friends left me at home wondering whether to spend the money to go and be with them?

And I decided the answer was “no”.  Why?  Well, it has little to do with them, of course, and so much to do with me.

I knew there would be corporate worship.  And then teaching time.  All of it would be awesome and rewarding to anyone who went.  Except, probably me.

No, I’m not a hardcore introvert.  I actually have a very extrovert side which loves to engage with people.  I especially love the one-on-one.

But.  And there is a very big “but”.  I can’t do it anymore. Continue reading I LOVE YOU, BUT I CAN’T “DO” CORPORATE ANYMORE

TEST THE SPIRITS

test the spirits

We are taught to “test the spirits” because “even the elect can be deceived” and the best “test” is a declaration of Lordship.   Therefore we ask the question “Is Jesus your Lord?” and if a spirit won’t make that claim, then it’s an evil spirit, straight-forward and simple.

But wait a minute.  Every day I meet tons of people in a public place.  It’s my job and I’m not allowed to ask every person about their relationship with God.  So how can I test the spirit? Continue reading TEST THE SPIRITS

WHO IS REALLY HEARING GOD’S VOICE?

ear hearingOnce I asked Father how it can seem that His messages are so different from one person to another?  After all, He isn’t a different person and He isn’t actually giving differing messages.

He showed me how simply our perception is the problem, and He immediately gave me an example as I sat on my deck listening to a Continue reading WHO IS REALLY HEARING GOD’S VOICE?

HOW I BEGAN HEARING GOD’S VOICE

sound waves 3

“Go pick up the cup,” He said.

Was I literally hearing the voice of God? This voice was completely audible.

Now, I’m not saying this is the only way to hear God, but I was hoping to hear Him this way at least once.  The prophets of old had heard His voice and though I didn’t want to be presumptuous, I asked God if I could hear it, too. However, I wasn’t expecting the strange message I received.

It was a sunny and breezy day as we drove across western Kansas to Continue reading HOW I BEGAN HEARING GOD’S VOICE

INTIMATE SECRETS

relax-1137240_960_720In a place of silence and peace, I can hear Father speaking to me and the conversation becomes very intimate.  That’s because He knows every thought I have, often better than I know myself.

Sometimes we humans have unacknowledged thoughts and reactions hidden in foggy imprints from the past.  These are impressions we never told anyone and barely noticed ourselves. Continue reading INTIMATE SECRETS

WHEN I FEEL USELESS, I’M NOT

Feeling useless has come when I haven’t seen Father outwardly active in me for a while and I begin to think I’m doing nothing, having no effect,  and just breathing air.

“Feeling useless” is a lie, of course. One that likes to show up just before Father surprises me with something special.

His surprise happened the other day via a young mother who was discouraged and frustrated.  She couldn’t get her child support from her baby’s daddy and they fought every time they talked. Continue reading WHEN I FEEL USELESS, I’M NOT

HE’S DOING A NEW THING

Father said to re-post a word from 2013.  He said “I am doing a new thing in the earth.”  And this Word is what he’s talking about.  He’s teaching many to rule and reign.  It happens from our Seat.

The world is waiting for us to sit on that Seat each day and do our job.  It is what changes the world and brings heaven to earth.
