HOW TO SIT IN YOUR SEAT NEXT TO JESUS

seat

Your Seat next to Jesus is the ultimate relaxation place no matter what is going on in life.  It’s also where you can ask Him questions and He’ll answer you.  He’ll teach you stuff like how to change things and get things accomplished in your kingdom.  It’s an amazing place if you know how to get there.

And getting there is just too simple.  No harder than staring out the window and daydreaming.  But because you might think that something simple can’t be real,  I challenge you to try it and test Him.  See if it is true.  Do it several times until He erases the doubt from your mind.

It’s ok to be a doubting Thomas.  Jesus never reprimanded Thomas for needing proof and in many places, the Bible tells us to “test and see”.

So, let’s do this.  If you feel safer and more comfortable, say a quick prayer asking Jesus to know your heart and bless your efforts.  Now trust Him because He actually does see your heart and know your motives.

Now, close your eyes and imagine Jesus standing in front of you.  It doesn’t matter what He looks like.  Maybe your picture is something you’ve seen in the past.  Or maybe it’s completely unique. Whatever you do, don’t over-think it.  Accept Him however He looks.  It may change with time.

Now that you have a picture of Him in your mind, let your imagination free to go further.  Imagine you are sitting in a chair on the top of a high hill or mountain and Jesus is sitting in a chair right next to you.

Try to get comfortable and look around.  Check out the scenery, the view, and study the chairs and their detail.  Ponder Jesus and His demeanor, His expression, and spend time with Him so you will remember it easily.  Take your time here.  Don’t rush.

Yes, this is imagination.  But that doesn’t mean it’s fake.  I’ve come to learn that it’s like a blank computer screen.  You can use programs to draw, write or invent.  Or you can create.  You can also communicate with others and let them share their creations on your screen too.

Imagination is where you create or you invite others to create.  If you invite Jesus to create on your imagination screen, He will.  And it’s not fake.  Trust Him to be God and able to do the simplest thing like using your imagination.

Do you need more convincing?  Consider that we can’t build a house, or a bridge, or anything else, without the use of imagination.  Just because we have discounted it, ignored it, and allowed every kind of image to wander around in it, doesn’t mean that any of it was fake.

For instance, last time I checked, scientists said there are at least 13 dimensions and as they learn, they find more.  So, if we only operate in 3 of those dimensions, … well, what’s going on around us at this moment might really pop our cork if we could see, hear, or smell it.  And maybe we do sometimes.  Maybe that’s what sneaks into our imagination when we aren’t guarding it.  It’s just a thought.

So, what if we don’t discount anything in our imagination anymore?  Let’s give that a try.

Let’s take back ownership of our imagination and use it the way it was created to be used, as a screen for communication and creation.

The next step in sitting on your Seat is to understand the purpose of it being right next to Jesus.  It’s an important place in God’s eyes.  He gave you authority from this seat because it is actually a throne (no matter how it looks).  It is also a place of companionship with Jesus, where He is your brother.  And it is a classroom where He teaches you everything He knows.

That’s right.  He doesn’t hold back.  As a matter-of-fact, He’s eager to share it with you.

You are more safe and secure here than anywhere in the world.  You can simply sit and relax completely or ask Him questions.  He’ll tell you secrets here and show you things you’ve never seen before.

And don’t worry, if you don’t sit in your seat, no one else can take it away from you.  But if you let it go to waste, you will suffer because your kingdom will be absent a ruler.  So spend a little time to learn how it works.  Explore why it was created uniquely and especially for you.  And I recommend going there often.

  1. It’s true! He’s there waiting to commune with me. And if one more step is added to the steps you’ve mentioned, I am astounded at the result. Have some paper and a pen handy, and ask Him what He wishes to say. Record the words that come into your heart. So far when I have done this, the result is so encouraging. I asked my husband to read what was written, and tears came into his eyes (which is a rare occurence I can assure you). If what I wrote had not been in step with the Word, he would have definitely let me know, but he said that it truly sounded like the Lord was speaking back to me.

For what it is worth, I am 100% with you on your imagination theology. In former times I used my imagination for ungodly dreaming, but now I use it to meditate on heaven and Jesus. I pray that my eyes will be opened to see into the spiritual world, but until then I will continue to live by faith and use the incredible imagination that Father has given me to stand before His throne in worship, sit next to Jesus, and consider the great cloud of witnesses who are cheering me on.

Thanks so much for your writing, I am blessed by it!

    1. Obviously, you have already mastered the concept of journaling/ writing, but it is totally new to me. I feel almost breathless with the world that is opening up to me and I’m so thankful that Father has brought me this far. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Thanks for putting up with my johnny-come-lately comments.

      1. I don’t hear “pompous”. I hear a queen getting comfortable on her throne next to Jesus.

        1. Your reply has to be one of the kindest, most encouraging I have ever received. Thank you for expressing something that feels like it came straight from the lips of Jesus, who never condemns, always inspires.

    1. Not exactly. We have to change our perception of what imagination is. It isn’t fake. Once we understand that, then we can use it. For instance, seeing a picture in your mind is only a first step. Then seeing a spontaneous movie is a deeper step. Touching God and feeling it physically is even deeper. There are levels of depth and intensity. The deeper we go, the more we access the spiritual realm and bring it into the physical. The imagination is a portal, not a one dimensional chalk board. Not only do we use our imagination, other spirits use our imagination too and paint pictures on it. Relationship and motive are primary keys. I recommend doing some study on the imagination. Here’s a good excerpt from the book Seeing In The Spirit Made Simple by Praying Medic. I recommend the whole book. https://www.facebook.com/notes/david-joseph/the-imagination/819928444750718?pnref=lhc
