“How do I get there?” is a good question.
Jesus was asked this question, too. And his reply’s were about being born again, or leaving all our worldly goods behind, or hating our family. Those answers can’t be understood at face value because they refer to spiritual experiences.
The Kingdom is a spiritual thing and getting there is a spiritual journey. Jesus’s answers describe an awakening that happens when we encounter the Spirit within. And it happens in varying degrees and experiences to everyone. We even call it intuition sometimes.
spirit
Spirit is a friend who’s closer than a brother. And once we recognize it, it takes a lifetime to understand it. Like any other friend it’s independent of me and yet part of me. Sometimes it feels like having another person inside me. Someone who has their own ideas and plans and time tables. It can’t be bribed or controlled by ritualistic use of scripture any more than my friends can be controlled by snapping my fingers. And it takes time to really get to know Spirit, just as it takes time getting to know anyone. There are nuances, and personality, and character to learn. Sometimes Spirit breaks through my thoughts when I least expect it, like a surprise visit. And sometimes I reach inside to “commune” with it.
The Kingdom is in the same place inside us. I don’t like calling it a place because it isn’t a location. It’s the secret place in our hearts where we keep things and people we love and cherish. How can we tell another person how to go to that secret heart? Well, telling someone how to get to The Kingdom is the same.
So, the best direction I can give anyone seeking The Kingdom is to go to that place where you hold your loved ones inside. See their faces and feel their hugs. It may include using memory but also imagination. And THAT is your inner kingdom. That is The Kingdom of God within you. And there’s more in there than just your family. God is there, too, along with lots of other things.
heaven
I know folks describe thrones and angels and temples and such, from their journey’s to The Kingdom. I’ve seen those depictions too. And they came spontaneously to me as a dream comes at night. But all those fabulous things are symbols meant to help us understand. They aren’t actual buildings and Beings because Spirit isn’t made of anything material. It simply displays its actions and functions using material things until we evolve spiritually and understand spiritually.
By the way, those symbolic things seldom manifest physically in this life looking the exact same way, but they do manifest. That’s why being familiar with what’s happening inside our inner kingdom is primary. It’s where we begin living a life of overcoming victory outwardly. Ignoring that kingdom,… well, it leaves us unaware as victims of the chaos happening there. And yes, it can be chaos. Then we manifest that chaos into our world. Ignoring The Kingdom within is like leaving children without a chaperone.
Father, planned for us to grow-up and rule and reign in that kingdom beside Jesus. It’s where we learn to create heaven and then manifest it into the physical realm.
let’s begin
So, go into your secret heart place with Jesus. Take his hand and let him teach you how to see everything you have in there. Then how to put it all into the order of heaven where only Love, Peace, and Joy rule. And it begins to look a lot like the description in Revelation 21.
Once heaven is the rule of your kingdom, then you will inherently begin manifesting it outwardly into your physical world. That is how heaven comes to earth.
Inside The Kingdom lives your whole world and everything that affects you. It’s massive, like the universe, but it exists inside your secret place. And you can only get there by seeking deep inside your heart where Love Lives.
Now you’re home.
