YOUR CORONATION INTO THE KINGDOM

king

IMAGINE your coronation to your throne inside The Kingdom.  The Bible mentions us being kings and priests before our God.  So wouldn’t that mean there was a moment of coronation?  And wouldn’t it probably be later in our relationship with Father and not at the beginning when we first believed?  Certainly, a newborn heir is considered royalty but is not yet a crowned monarch.

An heir is crowned when they have learned the techniques of ruling and reigning.  It has everything to do with maturity and availability.  And in The Kingdom of God, that ruling and reigning would logically encompass the ability to govern what is created.  Wouldn’t it? Jesus said that He does what He sees the Father doing.  So what does the Father do?  What are His capabilities?  Doesn’t He create and care for His creation?

If that is the paradigm, then we often focus too small. Healing miracles and raising the dead are a drop in the bucket.  He said we would do greater things.

So let’s look at what it might mean to be seated on a throne next to Jesus.  Greater things might mean caring for the whole planet and the whole civilization.

But does it mean this world?  Isn’t The Kingdom within?  How do we rule and reign a Kingdom that is within?  And what does that look like?

Based on Jesus’s examples of the supernatural and miraculous, I would say that this physical world had no hold on Him.  Not by any laws, whether physical or religious.  He ruled from inside and therefore could ignore any law outside.

He respected the laws of the country by paying taxes and He said, “Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar”.  But He did it supernaturally.

He didn’t join Caesar’s system in order to pay His taxes.  He paid His taxes FROM His own system of which He was the ruler.  His Kingdom took precedence over this one.  And this is KEY.

Do we really understand the verse that says we are not of this world?  And what that means.  Or what it means to be a ruler in The Kingdom that is within us?

Jesus apparently didn’t join the medical community in order to heal.  And He didn’t join the political or religious community to change society.  He performed supernatural miracles everywhere He went.  And to every question, He answered from the realm of the spiritual.

Please don’t jump to the conclusions that I don’t advocate the medical, political, or religious community as having usefulness and purpose.  I try not to sign in much on any of those topics because I don’t see Jesus doing it.  He seemed to have little opinion about any of those topics.  His one and only focus was The Kingdom.  According to Him, it was the KEY to everything.  It was the answer.

This may be a scary discussion for some believers.  They may think I’m trying to be God.  But in all sincerity, I’m only learning to sit in a seat where He says I’m supposed to be seated.  And apparently, that means I should watch and learn from Him right now.

The ability to watch Him comes directly from Him and accepting the commission to learn is quite a brave step of maturity.  It requires the humility to know that I’m not capable of doing any of it myself.  Only because of His authority and power inside me should I try.

Then by accepting my responsibility to learn from Him and trust that His plan is not only possible but necessary, then I must be brave enough to do it.  With heart beating wildly, I accept the invitation to become what He wants me to become.

It’s true, the whole thing could scare me so badly that I might shrink to the back corner and abdicate my throne.  That wouldn’t be His highest hope for me, but even the courage to say “yes” must be learned.  It isn’t the first response I would have.  And He won’t disown me or reject me for it.  Rather, He will continue to teach me to mature and be brave until one day, even if it is somewhere in eternity, I will accept the appointment to my throne.

And then a coronation ceremony begins as I walk toward my King wearing all the finery He has placed upon me.  There I will kneel as He places a crown upon my head and anoints me for my position.

Within the coronation processes here on earth, is an anointing procedure that is so private and personal that cameras are never allowed.  This is a moment of the deepest spiritual commitment and bravery.  This is between me and my Father God.

It is in that moment that I imagine the weight of responsibility is nearly heart-stopping.  How will I ever measure up?  Have I learned enough?  Will I make good decisions?  Oh, the weight!  The welfare of people depends on me.  They will either suffer or be blessed by me.

Our world and its societies are already suffering because we aren’t seated on our thrones ruling and reigning.  For whatever reason, we have not learned what we need to do to care for them.  This is why all creation is groaning for the sons to be revealed.

So let’s go back to the example Jesus gave.  He left His throne and came to earth to alleviate one of the biggest problems: the price of our sins.  We couldn’t escape those consequences and we couldn’t be perfect on our own.  That one element kept us from becoming joint heirs with Him.

He fixed that problem once and for all time.  It will never be an issue again.  That’s what a ruling monarch does.  He sees the issue and fixes it.

Now as we are seated next to Him learning and watching Him, what is He doing now?  He isn’t working on that same problem anymore because He said that was finished.  He said He also put all His enemies under His feet and got the keys to death, hell and the grave.

I understand there are a whole bunch of theologies wrapped up in this area of my topic.  But in my travels with Father, He seems to take me outside the box of our limited thinking and show me something different.  This one isn’t an exception.

Jesus was seated on His throne and saw a problem so He fixed it.  So, what are the problems we are supposed to be seeing and fixing?  He already put His enemies under His feet.  We don’t have to do that.  He has the keys to death, hell, and the grave.  We don’t have to get them.

But wait.  When we look around the world, people are still suffering the consequences of their sins.   He has the keys but people still die, live in hell, and go to the grave.  Wow.

What He did was a response to sin because its power hadn’t been erased yet.  Now it is.  So why do we still see it?

I believe it’s because people have been told to give their hearts to Jesus, but they haven’t been told how to live as kings and priests.  They haven’t learned what it means to rule and reign and be responsible for the whole planet, the whole society of humanity around the world.

THIS is the good news we know and use, and demonstrate, that we aren’t subject to the world, but it is subject to us as it is to Him who lives within us.

Most monarchs advance to their throne when their King has died, leaving them to rely on advisers and friendly King’s from other countries.  But our King is not dead and He will always be by our side forever to advise and support us directly.  I learn from His example, and He has my back, making sure that even my less-than-best decisions are turned to favor.  He has a way with things like that.

Therefore, as I learn how to rule and reign, I will trust Him completely and step up to His throne boldly.  I accept my crown and let Him set it upon my head.  Then I sit down next to Jesus and begin to reign.

I will change issues and problems FROM there.  And so will you.  So, let’s be brave and learn how to do it.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.  I send blessings to accompany you on yours.

Faith
