Wouldn’t it be great if we all prepared for Covid-19 the same way we prepare for a sport? I’ll explain.
First, with an attitude of winning, gear-up the team with every good tool and apparatus. Don’t skimp. Give them the best. And dress them in a way to feel team pride.
Then teach them and practice them until they think they’ll drop. Repetition, repetition, repetition. It strengthens everyone and everything. Even attitudes.
Then pump them up to believe they can win. Mental preparedness is often one of the very best things that can be done for any team. It can be the difference in playing well, or poorly. Emotions are vital. Fear can’t have a place in the fight because fear is defeat. And a fearful team almost never wins.
Learn the signs of fear and research the best practices to combat it with a vengeance. Fear must be demolished inside the hearts and minds of the players and their faith in their unique and highly trained abilities should be promoted almost excessively.
Religious faith is always an asset in combating fear. It supports a belief in something more powerful than ourselves. Something or someone who will strengthen us when we are weak. With our God, we are more powerful than any enemy. So, strengthen that faith to a degree it has never reached before.
Finally, teach the team an aggressive attitude. One that belittles the enemy and undermines their abilities. Sometimes it even promotes laughing at the enemy.
At game-time, we go onto the field knowing there may be injuries, but they are avoided with best playing techniques and then down-played to the injured person so they can maintain a winning outlook. We care for the injured immediately all the while building them up mentally and emotionally as they heal. Fear remains the primary enemy.
I’m not actually a sports person. Maybe you can tell. But I’ve watched enough to see the behavior. It’s necessary, especially when coming onto the field of play, to be prepared physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
It’s a battle and we do our utmost best to come to the field prepared in every way. Knowing our greatest enemy is vital.
So, bottom line: freedom from fear is my highest hope for everyone. It gives us all a better than fighting chance.
Sending blessings to all for playing their best game during this season.
