THE TRUE COMFORT OF BEING

Recently a friend posted a note saying he’d come to a place of complete comfort in his Being.  My heart leaped with joy as he described what I have also been experiencing.  And the longer the post remained, the more people joined the conversation with stories of similar experiences.

Arguments and debates around scripture are long past, relegated to a different stage of experiencing God.  And it’s simply not a place we can return to and participate from anymore.

It’s as though our inner circle of Being has finally been made complete and there is nothing left to do except experience it.  There are no rituals or expectations.  There only remains ongoing peace.  A fulfillment watered with love.  And a freedom to go out to frolic wherever the wind blows.  To enjoy lying down in the green pastures.  And to peek into any dark crevasse without fear.

“everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid”  Micah 4:4

Is this the place, Father?  Is this where Eden lives inside us?  Have we finally arrived where there is no night and our light comes from Your glory?

Are You finally our only true Leader, the only voice that resonates in our soul?  Can we finally rest and drink deeply forever?

This is Your Kingdom that Jesus tried so diligently to frame into words using parables.  A paradise couched almost secretively inside stories.  A treasure hidden in plain sight.

Here, You invite us not only to experience our hearts desires but to finally let them build to completion inside.  And then, to freely share them with You as You add Your lavish touch.

It doesn’t matter anymore that we never deserved this.  That wasn’t the point.

The plan was to lose ourselves so completely that we found more of our self than we ever knew existed before.  The perfection that You said we could Be.

And here it is simply in Being who You created in the beginning.  A masterpiece.

Being,  Faith
