THE KINGDOM WITHIN, WITH POWER

Having Faith with power appears to be a hit or miss situation in the Christian community.  Some Christians don’t even believe in a manifestation of power.  And yet, that was the one thing that caused Jesus to stand out from the crowd.

I always got stuck on the thing Jesus said about doing greater things than Him.  And I used to ask preachers and teachers throughout my life, where these greater things existed.  Their shrugs and raised eyebrows left me wondering why they had any following whatsoever.  The faith they were sharing was basically powerless.  And the preachers who pursued any power at all were almost exclusively focused on healing.

THE 3 THINGS

Jesus predominantly concentrated on 3 things.  Healing, raising the dead, and casting out demons.  And very little on financial or relationship issues which is curious to me since at least 50% of our prayers concern those things.

Jesus mainly taught The Kingdom Within.  That was His biggest message.  He didn’t really discuss the 3 things He did at great lengths.  And it occurs to me that healing the body, raising the dead, and setting people free from their demons, was, in essence, setting people free to see  The Kingdom Within.  The Kingdom Within is where the “greater things” are manifest.  The things that answer the other 50% of our prayers.

This is how it played out in my own life.  Being stuck inside sickness and brokenness in a death-like existence means blindness.  I couldn’t comprehend The Kingdom Within.  Not until mind, body, and soul were healed.

Healing the sick.  This is first, and it applies to the body.  With my body constantly sick and struggling, I’m not able to envision anything beyond the pain and weakness.

Raising the dead is second.  It applies to when my soul has died as a result of brokenness and trauma.  I’m not whole and therefore unable to see The Kingdom Within.

The third is casting out demons.  This has to do with demons of fear which paralyze my mind and make me unable to access my inner kingdom.

These are the 3 things that Jesus did abundantly. And He did them to give us access to the inner kingdom.  These 3 things are the most difficult obstacles for us.  They are the ones that create a veil over our spiritual eyes.  Healing them sets us free to see.  Rending the veil.

THE 9 THINGS

Notice that almost all of Jesus’s miracles were about those 3 things, healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons.  However, 9 times He did something different.  Something that He didn’t put in His list of miracles for the disciples to go out and do.

Those 9 things are: turning water into wine, a miraculous catch of fish (2x’s), calming the storm, feeding 5,000 & 4,000, walking on water, money in a fish’s mouth, and withering the fig tree.

Those 9 things address issues belonging to the other 50% of our prayers.  They apply to financial and relationship issues.   And I thought it was curious that He didn’t tell the disciples specifically to go out and do these things.  But I might know why.

Once again it makes sense to me because of my own experiences.  Often I need the help of other believers for healing my body, raising my dead soul, and delivering my demon haunted mind.  That doesn’t mean I can’t do it alone, but it’s more difficult because often I can’t “see” past my own pain.

SEEING

After healing from sickness, being raised from a death of brokenness, or delivered from inner demons, I am whole.  I can finally see The Kingdom Within.  And that is where other kinds of manifestations exist.  Those manifestations are born within me, in The Kingdom, and they don’t require someone else’s help.  After all, no one else can see what I “see” within me.

It doesn’t always come through prayer or even contemplation.  Sometimes I’m touching The Kingdom Within when I’m simply sitting in silence, or writing, or taking a shower.  Peace from that place seeps into my mind and effortlessly, almost suddenly, I “see”.  Sometimes I “hear” too.

This was the seeing and hearing that Jesus talked about. It happens only within that kingdom inside.

Plus, Jesus’s descriptions of The Kingdom weren’t meant to show us how to get there.  Rather, they confirm what it’s like once we “see”.

AWAKENING

There are lots of instructions out there in the world, on how to go within.  Both secular and religious people often call it “awakening”.  Curiously, not everyone seems able to achieve it.  And very few who do achieve it, actually “see” The Kingdom or equate it with Jesus’s parables.  Even fewer recognize the power that’s available there.

I guess that’s why it’s a narrow path and few find it.  That doesn’t mean they are destined for hell.  They simply won’t be overcomers as they desire.  And that means they are victims in life which, in essence, is an apt description for a real life hell.

Awakening to the inner Light for me was seeing The Kingdom.  It sat me in the throne, or driver’s seat, which is ruling and reigning as scripture said.  From there He instructed me to use the power accessible to me in that place.

Ruling inwardly wouldn’t logically seem to produce manifestation outwardly, but it does.  And this is another point I have seldom if ever heard taught.  This power that makes us victorious in Life comes from God, who dwells within us.  And He invites us to rule in Life, with Him.

This is the power that answers the other 50% of our prayers.  Those issues that affect our finances and relationships in this world.

THE OTHER 50%

Without utilizing the inherent power in The Kingdom, we might be enlightened and finally comprehend our Oneness with God, but still be victimized outwardly.  And Jesus didn’t come simply to show us how to be enlightened victims.

Enlightenment involves surrender, and everyone both secular and religious agrees.  But without The Kingdom, it means learning to be victims with a smile.  The Kingdom is about a different kind of world.  Not just internally but externally.  It’s about possessing the key to the Garden, a paradise which was God’s original vision for the earth.  And that’s a place where every need is supplied, and evil can’t stop perfection in Life.

Jesus introduced us to a principle that not only set us free inside, but out.  And that is the essence of the New Covenant not only replacing the Old Covenant, but fulfilling it.  Both worlds, the inner and the outer, are now made new.

Sending blessings on your journey to The Kingdom.

  1. I’m once again so appreciating your articulation! The parts on healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons are what I really needed to hear, simply because I’d been in environments where so many were wanting to see miracles happen, so the focus was on outward things – the extent of healing manifestation that come from their hands, or the number of other kinds of testimonies they can churn out after praying for someone. Nothing wrong with miracles and testimonies. But as people, there was no love, or character – the personalities that Father had created still very much hidden. I was hurt by their ministry, and grieved that the point seemed to be completely lost on them. I agree with you on everything you’ve said here, and have had some fruit of it in the past. But right now it seems like I’m entangled in some things that are sending my mental health down the drain and am not feeling powerful. I almost don’t care about outward manifestation of the kingdom at this point – I just need to see and access the kingdom within. On occasion when I’m able to see, they’ve only been little sparks that have refused to ignite. I’m thinking that there is still some cognitive dissonance on my part trying to make sense of what’s happening by bringing old ways of thinking in…? I’m feeling a little too beaten down to figure any of it out. Nevertheless, I’m much encouraged by what you’ve written. It’s a seat I can rest on. Thank you.

  2. I always look forward to your writings. I want to be made whole so that I can see the kingdom within

    1. Thank you, Celeste. I can only encourage you to keep going, keep desiring, and keep pushing forward. Father wants this more than you can imagine. So even as I say “push”, I also say “rest” and let Him love you intimately. Love the journey. Blessings.
